Can anyone tell me the name of those very bright torches that American police use?  I thought I heard them called Magna Lights.   I googled but did not find them.  I think I need one.  Any info. welcome.   Are they very expensive?   Thanks.

I think you mean Maglites........OH loves them! You can easily get them in the UK.

If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

Maglites are expensive. We've got some and some much cheaper 'no-brand' LED torches, which are just as bright. B&Q or screwfix, possibly hiking/outdoor shops should have them.

With the maglite, you can change the size of the circle of light it produces - small, bright area or wider, not-so-bright, which can be useful. There is a dark area in the centre which I found strange at first.

I've got a Maglite.  I use it to find my way to the bus stop after work once the clocks have changed, lol.  I use it on full beam on the road until a car comes along then I dull it down so as not to distract the drivers (along with my flashing reflector armbands ;D)

That description deserves a photo Sam Louise ;) ;D.
