Some of you may recall I raised a thread on 'fruit storage' a few days ago well I have to tell you that I have been advised since that my methods although not wrong run the risk of contaminating other things.

and as you see there is a reason for wrapping in paper but only if you are storing fruit & veg in the same area.

So my argument of the 'dark storage sheds' of yore still stand i.e. they didn't wrap their fruit simply because they only stored fruit in them.

We live and learn and as they say you are never too old to learn.........I agree!!

That is areally useful document, thanks for posting that. I am trying to store maincrop potatoes for the first time this year so that was very helpful...my apples will have to go elsewhere!
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴
