windows for shed

I have been given a 6'x8' shed which is a bit tatty but sound, but no windows.  There are 2 approx squares of about 2'x2' close together.  Has anyone a good tip to fill them?   Thanks.

Green house polycarbonate sheeting.

Buy a single sheet, 4 ft by 2 ft.  Maybe a neighbour bought a pack to redo his greenhouse and has a sheet left?

Cut it in half with a stanley knife.

Cement in with bathroom sealant.

Job done.

Do you need windows on an allotment shed?

Keeping the door open when using the shed, for light is usually enough.

Windows give easy entry to thieves. A target for stone throwers and another place for damp to enter, although sealing stuff is cheap enough.

My shed window was smashed recently, I spoke to a glass merchant and he said it wouldnt have been polycarbonate, more likely acrylic (also called perspex or plexiglass). I had a look around and found that polycarbonates also expensive. So I ended up looking at acrylic. You can get sheets in specific sizes or cut to size from sellers on ebay or Amazon. I reckon maybe £15 for the size you need. Its worth checking glass merchants in your area to see if any of them sell sheet acrylic as then youd save the delivery charge. Its not easy to cut at home either.

We used un breakable glass from a dump..and made the frame to fit the glass XX Jeannine

Polycarbonate is often called 'unbreakable glass'. Theres no real glass thats unbreakable.  Some types like tempered glass are stronger than normal glass but all are breakable.

Yeah, those are the people that sell polycarbonate as unbreakable glass on ebay and Amazon. They also sell the acrylic at about a third of the price.
