Of course PSB is purple.  But that is the flowers: I have several plants where the entire plant has purple stems and leaf veins.  Is this normal?  Will  it produce good heads of brocolli?

The flowers are actually YELLOW.

The buds are purple and they go green when cooked.

Yes a lot of the plant can look purple, it is just a matter of the variety.

Unfortunately PSB does not produce 'good' heads...nothing like the summer type broccoli/calabrese...but loads of small and thin heads..but for me they taste better than the summer ones..and they don't take as long to cook neither ;D
Be prepared to pick them by the 'bucket' loads.. ;)
I'm growing 4 different varieties this year..and their leaf and stem colour vary from light to dark green and some has purple tinge too.

These are not purple tinged they are very purple.  Never seen it before yet they came from more than one packet.

what variety are they Digeroo?
I was on our plots briefly yesterday and saw someones PSB was also very purple in that the stems were purple. Whereas mine has dark grey/green stems and leaves

I do not know exactly what variety they are.  One plant came from a Moles packet.  But I am not sure about the rest  I had several packets and then lost the planting list, so when I planted them out I just took some from each row.   The idea was to have purple sprouting most of the year.  But so far the summer sprouting has been very shy to sprout only one plnat has made it and it has been outclassed big time by the calebrese.

I have had them slightly pinkist tinged before but not really dark.  Actually they are rather attractive.

I have some white as well.  But I know precisely where they are.   Looking forward to getting a crop from them.
