I have a prob with my hydrangeas, the flowers never open in the centre. They used to tho, just the last couple of years.
any ideas please?

it's a lacecap hydrangia, that's what they're like. The big flowers on the outside attract the bees, and the small ones in the middle have the pollen

thanks, I was sure they used to open! but it does explain why they haven't. Better for the bees I spose.

Those are beautiful! What is so pretty is the variety in one flower. I think they're much more interesting than mine which are plain jane mophead type.
