.

Assuming windows and that you don't mean quoting

On the page of post you want to link to,  right click the address,
then left click the "copy" option.

In your post,  right click (with the cursor where you want the link to be) then
left click " paste"

Hopefully :)

It is possible to have A4A open in twice, so it is then easy to open the old thread in one window follow the intructions from . (above) and put it into your new post in another window.

Jeannine

Thank you .Dot. I will try that,I don't mean quoting, and I do mean just on the forum, not from outside. ;D

Highlight the URL in the address of the page you want to link, right click and copy it

Open your reply and click on the  planet tab on the toolbar( third from left)

You should get [] [] paste your link between the two tags e.g. []www.etc[]

Note; You should see URL in tag 1 and / URL in tag 2

I have had to explain it in this manner otherwise when I click send on this reply the brackets will take effect and disappear at least this way,you should see roughly what I mean.

I hope this helps!

Well done.  It is so satisfying to do something you have been trying to do for a long time.

If you are in internet explorer you can open A4A more than once,  this means it is easier to do the copy and paste when you have  the copy page and paste page open at the same time.  You simply copy click on you reply page and then do the pasting.

Jeannine you are funny ;D

To open two windows at once try the following:
at the top right of the screen you should see 3 little boxes containing _, 2 boxes and  x.
Click on the  2 boxes(middle), your page should shrink to a smaller size.
Move your mouse over the side(or top/bottom/corner) of the page and an arrow with two points should show.
Left click and drag the box to the size you want(half a page). If you want to move it then click on the dark blue bar at the top of the window and drag it.

At the top left of the page should be File.
Click on File - New - window. An exact copy of the original window should appear.
Click on the very top of the page(dark blue with white writing) and drag it to where you want it to go.
Leave the original window open on the thread/post you want to reply to. Use the second window to look for the website/forum/thread/post and do what you did before to copy the address.
Click on the original window do what you did before to show the link.
If you want either of the pages to become full size then click on the one you want and re-click on the top right, middle box(should be a square now not two boxes).

There other ways to do the above but I thought this might be easier for you.
