I wouldn;t usually, b ut my Vitelotte had an accident in the winds a couple of weeks ago and the damage to the tops has caused them to fail...Tipped out the tub and there were a handful of small spuds in there. I'd rather keep them for seed than eat them cos they're not that easy to get hold of. Given that they were tub grown they should be fairly free of disease but what sort of conditions do they need to keep to plant out next spring?....

I've found keeping in a cool dark shed until the end of the year and then placed in egg trays in north window in the spare bedroom(no heat) produces nicely sprouted seed potatoes for the spring. I'm sure there are other ways just this has worked well for me.

I know it sounds odd..but I wash my seed potatoes in washing up liquid water..no rinsing..and I let them dry out as they are..
I once read article about show potato growers and they wash theirs..
so I tried...and after that my 'seeds' have stored really well without any problems ;)

A neighbour of mine leaves them in the sun to turn really green, then stores them in buckets of sand.

Does that leave you more confused than before chriscross?  ;)

possibly.... I reckon windowsill for a week, then under the strairs.... I need to build some trays to go in that window...
