Thousands of fans braved extreme heat to take part in a vigil to mark the 33rd anniversary of Elvis Presley's death at the age of 42.

They lit candles and filed past his grave in the meditation garden of the Presley family home, Graceland, in Memphis, Tennessee.

‎33 years ago today, the world lost a legend with the passing of Elvis Presley. His talent, good looks, sensuality, charisma, and good humor endeared him to millions, as did the humility and human kindness he demonstrated throughout his life. Known the world over by his first name, Elvis is regarded as one of the most important figures of twentieth century popular culture. Long live the King.
