What varieties are  your strawberries that are fruiting right now?

I seem to be in a doldrum but have seem some lovely ones on another allotment.

Isn't it always the case!

My lottie friend and I are investing in some more plants and are getting the early, middle and late varieties - so we should be ok for next year - but I have not seen any strawberries on my plot for 3 weeks or so now!  I actually bought some from Tescos yesterday and whilst they are OK they aren't like your own!

Roll on next year then!

My neighbour has strawberries flowering now, unfortunately he doesn't know the variety also they don't send runners, I am interested if anyone can name a variety flowering now so I can buy some.

The plants I raised from seed saved from a "Sarian" fruit are flowering and fruiting all over the place ... it's their first year, so they might be a little late ... time will tell if they've got as long a season as the parent plant (which never threw runners) but fruited until at least October 10th (I gave some fruit as a birthday gift to a friend last year)

I put new plants in this spring so the yield has not been that good, but I get a punnet fairly regularly: they are perpetual croppers, instead of once a season. Unfortunately they are French varieties: one is called Rabunda, and the other Cijosée, but the fruit is really tasty, I only bought them at the hypermarket garden section! Funnily enough, no runners either  ???
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com

I have albion and aromel fruiting now. Aromel gave me fruit earlier in the season too.
Thanks

My strawberry plants are all crispy.  No fruits since late June, no runners and I don't know how many will survive this drought.  Let's hope last night's rain helps them along a bit.  We have more due on Friday but they've been promising rain for weeks and it just goes sailing past and falls somewhere else.

I have Flamenco flowering at the moment.   But no fruit yet, last fruit - june.

I have a packet of Sarian what is the flavour like?

Personally ... (and possibly because I grew them myself  ;) ) ... I thought the "Sarian" to have as good a flavour as any strawberry I'd ever tried ... certainly a lot better than many shop-bought varieties, though they're not a very big fruit, maybe the size of the top joint of my thumb (biggish hands), with no hint of acidity when fully ripened. My original plants lasted 3-4 years before getting tired, I did manage to get a few cuttings rooted (with several more that didn't take), but these finally died last year, hence the experiment with the seeds.

Thanks for all your suggestions for late varieties, I have just ordered 12 Flamenco for £13.50 inc delivery, great price I thought.
However Kypfer's idea of using the seed from a strawberry interested me, might try that sometime.

I bought some strawberries from the co-op & they were lovely. Eves delight & Sweet Eve. I googled them & got in touch with the company but I don't need 250 plants so I bought some more & put some of the fruit through a sieve & then dried them on kitchen paper & I have loads of seeds. I realise they probably won't come true but there are several Eve named plants so thought it was worth a try.

Because these strawberries don't send runners, what I thought I would do is to collect seed every year to grow the next years plants, then dig up the originals after the 4th year.
