Growing Pomegrates

Adli have these on offer on Thursday.  Does anyone have any experience of growing them in the UK.   Do the fruit ripen ok.

When I went to Turkey in May there were everywhere with stunning scarlet flowers.  I grew one once from a pip but it did not survive the move outside.
