Cabbage cages?

What sort of temperature build up under the curtain netting, please?
Our temps can reach 100 F.  Last year I put window screening over a Brussel Sprout and it "matured" too quickly, sprouts were very small, I think because of heat build up so am wondering if curtain netting would have same problem?
Without covering it this year the Sprouts were eaten alive to lace by Cabbage whites.
