My back garden backs onto a long garden of the house round the corner.  My two neighbours gardens also back onto it.   We all have wooden paneled fencing topped with trellis work which gives a height of about 6 feet.  On the other side is a privet hedge which is cut about once a year level with the top of the trellis.    In between cuts it grows to a height of about 10 feet.  It has weed bushes in it of brambles, elder and ivy.   It bushes out over the top of the fence and grows into my plants e.g. clematis.  The hedge is about 4 feet wide.   It is now pushing the panels apart and bending the panels of trellis over.  Does anyone know how we stand legally?

your local council will advise or check out http://www.gardenlaw.co.uk - as privet is considered evergreen? then I believe it is covered by a set height law but someone else will say for sure hopefully
