What can I do with small tulip bulblets, the parent plant was beginning to rot so I have taken them up to dry out.  When should I plant them up, what depth and are they better in pots or in the flower bed? Any advice would be appreciated, I don't want to lose the plants which are a souvenir from our trip to the dutch bulb fields. Thankyou

Week 21; Propagate tulips by removing offsets / bulbils from mature bulbs, which can then be placed in a nursery bed until they reach flowering size, which may take three or four years to achieve

Species tulips readily produce seed which, if sown fresh, will develop into flowering-size bulbs in five to seven years.
