Does the same rule apply to elephant garlic?Harvest when third of the leaves go brown. Mine are still looking green and healthy
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

Mine are looking pretty green and healthy too. I thought about pulling one yesterday to see but decided to have patience. Now I have itchy fingers again and think I'm going to lift one  ;D

I let you know later.

I lift them as soon as I see them beginning to flop over.

artichoke

I've lifted three of mine out of impatience and curiosity, and they are vast! Leaving the rest to mature properly as they are completely green and very much still growing.

Yayyyy  I just lifted one and yes nearly ready, size is good but needs to develop a little more, they were planted on 10/10  ;D

I think Robert's plan is probably best  ;D

This is what mine are looking like at the moment -1!

they seem to take longer than standard garlic (well that's my experience so far!), so I'm pulling standard this week and then as the elephant garlic is still nice and green I'll leave for a while. But not too long as I want that area for my PSB and Kale!

Lovely pic Jayb  ;D
