Charlotte Potatoes

I am becoming a bit concerned, i thought that charlottes were a first early. Now i know they were hit badly by the frost and lost ALL of their leaves and had to regrow. I had a furtle around on Saturday and could not find ONE spud.

Do you think i should now leave them until august, messes up my planting plan somewhat as my leeks are sitting there ready to drop into that plot as soon as my spuds are up.

Any advice would be truly appreciated.

here in France they are listed as 2nd earlies. I think I harvested mine last year in July about...

I have a row of Charlottes which are just starting to flower. I shall wait until the foliage starts dying back before I even have a firkle!  8)

When did you plant yours? I started planting mine on 7th April. I don't expect them to be ready until July. They are beginning to flower now.

They are sold as second earlies, but we treat them as firsts now , they would always be ready at the same time as Rocket so we stopped planting Rocket.

I planted my Charlottes on 16th March and have been digging them for a couple of weeks, now. They are much larger than expected.

Have they got much leafy growth? If so, surely they will produce, but a few weeks later because of the setback?

They have just started growing again after the frost wiped out the tops completely. Some of the plants have a larger amount of leafy growth than others. the smaller plants are only a couple of inches off the ground, the other plants are about a foot high.

I am not known for my patience, i suppose i will have to just put up and shut up and wait another month  :'(
