Can anyone here vouch for it?

I was re-reading a book and 'even nicer than purple sprouting' leapt out at me.  August sown for cropping the florets in spring.

Still plenty of time so I'm tempted to squeeze a couple in.

Sounds very interesting. Hope someone can.

I'm growing it for the first time this year. I got it from the Heritage people. I found a reference to it being a dwarf variety (shame that I've put it in the bed with a high cover on it!). It also said it was called asparagus as thats what the new shoots look like, but the taste is not the same. Look forward to hearing if anyone has tried it already.

I grew a few in my garden last year and they were very tasty  :)

Were the only thing that stood up to the slugs. They were stripped bare several times but always grew back and survived the very cold winter to yield lovely shoots this spring. I let a few go to seed because I was curious and they are covered in pods that are maturing nicely.

Where can we get the seeds from please?

Digeroo

If you join the HSL they sometimes have it on offer.  The problem with brassicas is isolating them.

www.brownenvelopeseeds.com supplies them.

Thanks Sazhig, they sound very robust.  Think I'll give them a whirl.

Thanks. I've just registered with them, looks like another good site.

Yes. they're like the Irish version of Realseeds.

I ordered some Painted Mountain sweetcorn from them a while back and hovered on the asparagus kale, but told myself it was naughty - now I'm kicking myself.  Just knew I'd have to have it down the line... ::)

I can't find anywhere on their site that says they do or do not ship to Canada, does anyone know. If I put anything in the cart it is showing me the postage before it knows where I am??
