Beans - then brassicas.

I`ve got my winter brassicas, kale and psb, in little pots waiting to go in the broad bean bed when they`re finished.
However, the greens are growing well and the beans are just about ready to start picking so it`ll be weeks yet before they could go in the ground.
Would it be better to put the greens into the bed that last winter`s cabbages were in - I was thinking of using that for the leeks - or to pot them on into bigger pots? ??? :-\

You could try a half and half and see the results for yourself

. I would say either should work.

....or and this may be slightly unconventional, but I've done it.

If you planted the broad beans spaced out enough you can plant the brassicas in between them.  They seem to like a little bit of shade at first, they like the earth firm and then you can just chop off the stalks of the BBs and let them rot down.

Wow! Interesting idea - I`ll do it! :)

......at your own risk  ;)  I think it'll depend on time til cropping and space between the beans, but they'll be fine between them for a while.

I'v got the same problem. think it's a interesting idea but couldn't do it this year as the beans are much too close together,it might work next season tho if I keep the plan in mind when planting the beans.
I have plumped for putting in the same place and treating it with some blood, fish and bone. it,s a gamble but meant to leave a space in this years beans patch and then forgot to do it
