how long can you leave brassicas in pots?

I have got no more space for the seemingly millions of brassicas that I have grown... until the potatoes come out. How long will they be ok in pots please?

Can u not try to pot them on into larger ones for the time being?

I had the same problem last year, sowed a few too many seeds for the space then available. I planted out what I could but kept a couple behind. It was interesting to see how the planted ones grew large while the potted ones remained rather small, when I eventually planted them out they grew very quickly, perhaps because of the strong root ball.
