I visited the exhibition on Wednesday and found it not up to its usual standard.

Stands/Stalls and gardens were fewer I guess the country's financial situation is beginning to tell.

I took a few pictures to allow you to judge for yourselves;

Hmm..GW exhibition is always been a bit of 'mixed bag'...nursery stands are always brilliant and looking at you photos some of the plants and stands are stunning..but the gardens...well..I take it that NEC is like a practice ground for the bigger events..some gardens are..not so interesting..naff..and some are truly great..less those though.. ::)
But for me that event is allways been more about shopping than seing gardens..
that stand with allium...nice...and that photo of 'curly'mammilaria...perfection..ah..and the bonsai..with flowers too :o..lovely
Good set of photos..just the job.. ;) Thanks Tee Gee

Lovely pics.............. :)

I am beginning to find these places same old same old............. :(

I think entry should be free and those wishing to view the Show gardens could pay separately.I resent paying to buy goods..........a lot of the stands can be found on markets everywhere.

Maybe having it every other year is the answer.

My fave has to be kings Heath park in Birmingham, very cheap to get in and a really good day out.

I know how you feel betula...I don't go these places very often..GW one I last visited..oh..3 years ago..and I went Harrogate show 2 years ago..but that's it..don't quite feel the urge anymore...
I do go and see garden or two every year..but that's about it....I like my own little green paradise.. ::)(read,,jungle.. ;D)

I love the show gardens and they can inspire you.Well done to Ace for his Gold.

I lost the plot a bit when watching Chelsea on TV.Some guy had a road built to access a tree he wanted to use on his show garden. What an insane use of money and how does that help the average person plan his own garden. ???

When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

Lovely photo's  :)

I found it a bit disappointing as well. The show gardens were rather sparse compared to last year and there wasn't as much to interest me in the way of shopping either.
