How long does it take to put up canes for runner beans ?

I went down the lottie yesterday for (what I thought was to be ) a quickie.

All I wanted to do was put up a few canes for me runners.

3 hours !

Just for 60 canes (30 pairs). The ground was already dug and raked.

3 whole hours !

Am I really pathetic, or does it really take that long ?

Im baffled as to how you can occupy 3 hours doing that. takes me about 15 mins tops to build three  12 cane wigwams in predug ground.

What have you been up to Slug_killer???
It does not take that long to put up 60 canes.
I have two rows of 24 and a frame around the top. Only took around 35minutes.
Is there something you are not telling us???

I found it took me a long time for a lot less canes (finding the right size in the jumble Ihad left last year, reaching up to try to tie the canes that are really too high for me, etc ) I think things always take longer than you expect!

I just put up 50 canes this afternoon and it took about 20 minutes

I grow my runner beans in the same place each year (so what) and got OH to put up the bean frame and no way am I going to move it whilst I still get beans (apart from the frost this year).  Did put up some canes and string for my sweet peas in the garden but after the cat/kitten tried to strangle himself on the string, took it all down so that took a long time, but who cares.
