Cucumber Plants

Is it too soon to put the cucumber plants in the lean to at the allotment? I do plan on putting them on the less draughty side and protecting them with a polythene 'wall' to keep them warmer. I have one Carmen and one moneymaker plant plus three lemon apple cucumber plants. I think I know what the answer will be but I am wary that if I keep the plants at home much longer they may get damaged in transit.
