replanting strawberries

Is it too late to replant strawberries?

I probably should have done this at the end of last year but was wondering if I could do it now.

Many of my plants have grown far too big so would really like to break them up into smaller units (3 crowns max), many are showing signs of flowering, so not sure how this will affect them.

I'd leave it now that they've started to flower and wait until the autumn.
