Black Turtle beans

Someone sent me some of these last year (possibly saddad or tonybloke?) and I was just wondering when to plant them? Also, are they edible as beans like french beans or to dry like borlotti?

I haven't grown them but have eaten them! And they've been dried. So it will be interetsing to see what others have done  :)
