How do you plant your onion sets?

He is on holiday for a week so I will deny all knowledge and say they "sunk" ;)
As Geoff H said sometimes its better to keep an open mind.
That's why this site is great...lots of opinions so you can see what works for the majority.

I support your advice, & I peel the top skin off the sets to deter the birds prior to planting - softly!
Always remember, onions are hungry feeders so prepare & feed well!!
Eskimo Nel was a great Inuit.

Agree with that. My onions are first in the queue when it comes to dishing out the manure or compost when preparing the beds....and they get any ash if I have had a bonfire.
