Hi everyone,

I have just purchased some more raspberry canes and so they are obviously in pots(quite large).

My question is - would it be OK to plant them out now? Or am I too late and do they have to stay in the pot until they have fruited this year?

Thanks

Glen

Plant them! If they are an autumn variety you'll get fruit this year.

Plant them now.

As already said Autumn ones will produce canes and fruit this year.

Summer ones will fruit on the existing canes.

If yours are several feet high they will fruit well. If they are only a foot or so high then you may get a few fruits, but it is probably better to cut them to just above ground level and let them put all their energy into producing a good crop next year.

Thanks Plot51A and allaboutliverpool.  ;)

They are of a good size and well established so I am expecting them to fruit this year and so will get them planted asap.
