Potato opinions

We tested our toe with spuds last year...but want to try for a longer season.  I know the taste of Pink Fir Apple...so thats a definite BUT usually like floury spuds as we mainly mash and bake....long storage life  and blight resistance PLUS cracking taste would be good :)
What do you think of

My vote for Best tasting 2nd early floury potato is Karlena, and has a good storage life. Main crop Axona for blight resistance, slug resistance and very long dormancy(storage) as I am still using it now.
This year I will be trailing Satanter against Axona.
Lady Christl is waxy.

Rocket, Kestrel and Cara
Grew Lady Christyl last year and had no probs
Always grow Kestrel and so do most of the guys on our lottie, good bakers, roasties and chips, never get slugged and store well
Cara new to me, PFA good storers and crop late, but going for a change this year.

Duke of York are floury, but I much prefer Rocket - though let them get quite big so their flavour and texture develop.

If you grow early spud Duke of York (or Red Duke of York) leave a few plants in, as the tubers bulk up and become more floury and mashable/bakeable

Us too - Sarpo Axona did great last year, Setanta supposed to be even better

IMO the tastiest floury spud is Arran Victory, but its a late maincrop, so quite often gets blighted

I do the same with Lady Christl - they are the only potato I am growing this year as they make lovely new potatoes as Ninnyscrops says, and bulk up as Dadnlad says later on so you can carry on using them, I am going to see how many uses they are good for this year.  I think some people probably get fed up with seeing me recommend them!! :-[
