Last years Potato raised bed...missed spuds and compost...safe?

OK we did a humungous raised spuds bed/pallet thing last year....verry successful. I thought we'd dug out all the spuds so left the compost/soli mix in situ to spread in raised veg beds this season (to improve handle of soil). Anyhow....digging out and
1/found some missed spuds.
They seem ok so intend to eat them (is that ok) as read horror stories re volunteers/blight.

2/ what can I safely use this compost/soil mix for??

Best thing to do is eat them - they might be carriers of blight.

Don't worry about eating blight - they found out during the Potato Famine that it's harmless to humans - it might not be entirely non-toxic but tastes so bad that it's impossible to mistake it or eat enough to even upset your stomach (I can confirm this - I'd rather eat someone else's ear wax) - so cut them open and bin any that have any kind of shadow on the flesh.

Blight spores will be dead but are even more harmless to humans anyway.

There might still be some tiny spuds you missed in the compost - but it will be safe for growing anything except potatoes and toms - even OK for aubergines though I'd probably err on the side of caution and skip these too.

NB. this blight carry-over can't happen with tomatoes (unless your toms are kept so warm they go perennial) - tomato soil can build up problems from year to year but not blight.
