moving toms into greenhouse?

I have some toms grown in modules on the kitchen windowsill, they have all passed the two first leaf stage, been pricked out and potted on, they now have 2 - 4 true leaves but are still only about 5 cms tall (I potted them down to their two leaves at pricking out stage) My question is, can I move them down to the greenhouse yet? It has a parasene heater to keep it from freezing. I really need the space for other things but don't want to risk my precious toms, never have any luck with them  ???

One year I planted mine too early and put them out in a cold frame with no heat but covered it over at night with blanket and tarp. They survived but glared at me for doing it to them and said I should have known they were a tropics loving plant. The leaves turned a purplish color (due to an inablility to get some mineral transported- I forget which- but they survived but probably it was a major set back for them. I'm following some advice on here and haven't planted mine yet though am champing at the bit even though we still have at least 6 inches of snow on the ground yet.

If you have some additional seeds perhaps planting a few more now would help in case you lose some. They'll probably catch up to your older plants anyway as the weather heats up.

I will do that, last year I was too late sowing stuff so this year I've gone the other way!

Over the years I must have sown/raised a few thousand plants.

If your greenhouse is insulated then babies are OK with night time(outside) temps down to about 2C ,lower than that then cover them with fleece,newspaper. Say just about 0


But if temps go to minus more than one or two (outside) then it`s time to put the heaters on.

Some will lose their first leaves and might not be at the standard I prefer to sell at but they will grow on to be good plants.

Thank you Cleo, am moving them out today, they have had a few days on my bathroom windowsill which is colder than the kitchen so hopefully it won't be too much of a shock  :o
