I have just bought some and want to grow it in a container any advice on size to use please ???

Bigger the better, I'd have thought, as it has a massive root system. I've been thinking along these lines myself, and if I do it, I'll probably use an old dustbin.

Something like a 5gall drum with the top knocked off and a few holes in the bottom should do!

It doesn't really take over, the clumps are pretty east to keep under control if you split them now and again, genernally not hard to give away....

It attempted to take over my plot. I dug it all out after a year, and next spring, it was coming up again six feet from the original position.

 :o :o :o I have grown horseradish..and will grow forever and ever...it spreads everywhere...otherwise great stuff...
What I know now that I didn't know at the time...I would grow in container that is raised on bricks  away from the ground!!!
And that is the crusial fact as it will escape otherwise,,,,
and when it comes to emptying the container...over the plactic so any bits left behind cannot get into ground.

From experience, must echo what Robert and goodlife have said about invasive horseradish, it can be a terrible pest not just on your own plot, but can travel onto other peoples plots too, so I don't think it's a good idea to put it in the ground - dustbin sized containers work well.
