Effect of duck droppings?

We free range our ducks in a large garden and I wonder what effect their droppings have on the soil. Do they add acidity or is it the opposite.  :-\
We have an acid loam and their favorite area is widely planted with azaleas, hydrangeas and a budliea bush.
The eggs are lovely and last year we hatched a lot in an incubator.

I just love the taste of duck eggs, but they are soooo fattening.

Poultry droppings are acidic hence why you should once or twice a year lime the soil to neutralise it.You only need to do it if they're in a permanent enclosed run on soil and if they're freeranging i wouldnt bother because it will be scattered over a large area.Only difference with ducks is theirs is slimy and a slip hazzard!

If you do decide to lime the soil-you MUST use garden lime from a garden centre/DIY shed etc-not builders lime as this is caustic and will burn.
