Has anyone seen Kitchen Garden for March, Tattieman (Iain) has only got himself a four pager in there, kept that a bit quiet, maybe he's a bit shy or doesn't like the limelight, I would have told the world and his dog if it had been me.
Well Tatty I'll be expecting a signed copy and I see your sister got all the looks in the family. :-X   ;D ;D ;D
MAY THE CORN BE WITH YOU.

Tin Shed

I had wondered if he was our Tattieman :D

Well, what a great reason to treat myself to KG!

Kev, you are so modest and retiring. I'm sure you wouldn't really have told us all!
Don't throw paper away. There is no away.

Tattieman

The only reason I said nothing was because of the dodgy pictures of me in it ;D
It came out really well and hopefully shows people the work that goes into producing seed potatoes.

Well done that man. My local supplier has let me down for "Epicure" this year and I've missed Ryton... do you know where I could get some?  :)

Hi Tattieman

I watched your videos on youtube a couple of weeks ago and now much better appreciate all the art and science that goes into your work.  Fantastic and informative - thank you so much.  I especially liked the tractor's eye view of the harvesting/planting :D

When I saw a bag of your potatoes in the garden centre a while later I felt a bit giggly- like I'd seen a celebrity!

Mortality

Great article there, well done.
I read the mag cover to cover the first day I bought it. ;D
Please don't be offended by my nickname 'Mortality'
As to its history it was the name of a character I played in an online game called 'Everquest'
The character 'Mortality Rate' was a female Dark Elf Necromancer, the name seemed apt at the time and has been used alot by me over the years.

It certainly opened my eyes to what goes into this spud growing lark.    ;D ;D ;D

They should be good stock if you get them there ;)
I think the next step is to put my face on the packaging but I am sure that would lead to a drop in sales. :D
We are already planning for next years crop. It is a non stop world for us.

For some reason, I expected you to be a lot older than you actually look  ::) !!! amazing how one can get an impression of someone that is so wrong when they see a picture!!!

Tattieman

Everyone seems to think that potato growers are older than they actually are.
I have now been full time with the potatoes since I left the school 15 years ago and in the last couple of years I have taken more to do with the business.
I hope to encourage more younger people into the world of veg and share my knowledge with anyone that will listen ;D

Tattieman,Waitrose have pictures of their producers so I am guessing that they paid a lot for that piece of market research!
Are the Anstey spuds yours?
Off to get KG.

Tattieman

All the magazine features and information we provide is free.
We have no ties with supermarkets as we only produce seed here.
The Anstey spuds will be from me through one of my wholesalers.
They have potatoes from a few different suppliers by the looks of it.

markfield rover

All I was  suggesting(badly) is that using your image would probably be a good idea and that Waitrose had done the market research to show this.Anstey  almost made it to 98 varieties this year,  so tempting to try one of each.

Having previously worked for Waitrose (pre 2003) for several years, I know that they like to source as much of their produce as locally as possible.
