Journalist daughter has been sent a bokashi composter for an article she is doing. Does anyone recommend them as I was thinking about getting a couple.
I looked on the recyclenow site & they no longer provide subsidised composters because retail outlets now stock them????

Unwashed

It's a bucket with a lid that costs £20+.  Naturally enough someone who's spent £20 on a bucket with a lid is going to say it's fantastic, but it's just a bucket.  With a lid.  That costs £20.  And I don't believe in fairy dust.

What else is in the bran, if anything, that they use.

i have been interested in  bokashi for some time, the information i have read is interesting and it seems quicker than composting but the price is quite prohibitive. let us know how your daughter gets on with it.

grannyjanny - I've brought back an old thread on the bokashi system - there's so much info there - hope it's useful for you and others with queies.
