I have a significant birthday this year..... Really fancy having a weekend away somewhere lovely, ideally a B& B type place which offers a grow your own course. Have looked on the internet but not finding much (might not be searching the right words yet). Anybody got any experience of such a thing?

How about this  http://www.rivercottage.net/ShopProduct401/BespokeEvents.aspx

Never been to River Cottage but the feedback looks promising.  I have completed a few short courses with Capel Manor but I doubt Enfield is top of your list for a weekend away ;D ;D ;D - although Park Lodge Hotel is a bit special............

Have heard Le Manoir au Quat Saissons do courses but they are a bit pricey

Ryton (Coventry) "Grow Organic" do some good weekend courses. I did hedgelaying there. There are some good B+B's in the local farms..  :-\

You can come and stay at my house. I will cook you a fry up and then you can dig my lottie (I will even give you instructions)  ;D

Now there is an idea.......we could arrange allotment visitation weekends, search out great local accomodation and then visit forum members plots! 8)

Bob Flowerdew used to do day courses via the Red Letter Day service, don't know if he still does them. Sarah Raven also does some (not cheap!) day courses as well, might be worth a look?
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

Do you think we could set some up Deb... the better "yellow book" entries include B+B  ;)

If you fancy somewhere further afield a friend runs this course near me, more than a weekend though

Looks interesting... do we get a tour of your Chillies as well...  ;D

Hehehhee, a little extra could be arranged a beer and a tour of the chilli garden! not much to see at the moment though  :(

September was more what I had in mind...  :)

Thanks for all these ideas (including Sparkly's- would I get tea and biscuits on the lottie too?!), I have been looking up the websites and I think I may have to do more than one to really celebrate this year.

Biscombe - that looks brilliant - the idea of throwing in the day job and being self sufficient sounds great (albeit while I'm indoors in the warm looking out)
