Morning folks,
I have picked up an early variety of rhubarb which I will be planting this week.

My questions is this, the lady at the garden centre said not to pick any storks in the first year as this will kill the crown. Is this true? Any words of wisdom?

Many thanks,
Jono

It is generally accepted that for the first year you let it get established and only lightly crop the 2nd year, however it wouldn't kill the crown if you tried a piece later in the 1st year.

Patience is the word. Let it establish for a couple of years and then it will go on for years and years
