I buy the whole beans and grind them as needed but I'm the only coffee drinker in our family.  A friend discovered that he could put the whole beans in an old wine bottle and use one of those wine bottle pumps to remove the air each time he dispenses the beans, and the beans stay fresh for ages.

I keep mine in the fridge and reseal the packet as best I can. Like the idea of removing the air to help keep them fresh.

Ladies,

Keep them in a tin or in a tupperware tub.
I found they will keep fresh for ages in these.

Got them back now to put some tread on them
