All beans peas etc are legumes and put nitrogen back into the soil, I usually transplant my Spring Cabbge where Broad Beans grew so that the Cabbage can take advantage of the nitrogen

I've done dwarf french beans for the first time - cheapo yellow wax bean from Lidl.  hadnt paid any attention until yesterday and they are full of tender pods!  Really impressed and thinking of doing considerably more next year as I simply sowed them in situ and let them get on with it.  Fixing nitrogen is a happy accident in my case!  Thanks, Psi.
