My plant has gone mad this year with loads of fruit. I've read you can eat them but they are not very good - has anyone tried?

Does anyone grow the passionflower edulis variety - does it do as well as the caerulea? If so I may have to get one :)

Last year I whizzed them up and strained to make a drink (as I do with my grapes) but they were insipid and tasteless. So I won't bother again.

Hi anemone,
agree with artichoke, the flavour is bland. A word of caution, if the fruits fall you'll have plants coming up forever, tell me about it!!!!!!

Thanks artichoke and telboy. I think I already have that problem ! The orignial plant died but all this growth is from a couple surprise sproutings. I'm not really viewing it as a probelm yet though, was pleased that it was growing over the fence finally :) The flowers are so beautiful, shame it's not the edible kind though.
