They have been passed on and he says only 12 more sleeps in this house before he moves to his digs in Cambridge.
That is only for a couple of weeks before he is off to Rum to see in the Rut.

I do envy Landimad the much shorter journey. My other son wants to go to Edinburgh (his birthplace) when he goes to Uni...could they get any further apart!!!!!

Well I've got him there......what a long way that is!
I managed to cope really well until I arrived back to the outskirts of our home town......then i thought about how far it was  :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

I have to say the moving in bit is a nightmare......up 5 flights of stairs and one small lift and 45 mins time slot for parking the car so waiting for a turn for the lift wasn't an option except for the heaviest items. I woke up this morning in the B&B to find i could hardly walk down the stairs! Worse than the day after Great Gable!

Yes LBK was saying first social thing was an organised Pub crawl :o.....Only a few days before he left he was helping at 'Booze on the Ouse' the annual local CAMRA festival and the first night he was on the Direct line (so to speak) when he got home and saying never again!

Kea, you must be shattered, and it is such an emotional time taking them isn't it, I feel for you.  I am taking a friend out tomorrow who has taken her youngest today.

I have one who has been but is now back home, and have been on a uni visit today for the middle one, off next year, but my AS lad is only 15 so a while to go yet.

Yes I am shattered. I have a year's peace before the next round starts!

The youngest wants to go to Edinburgh so that's a similar drive in the opposite direction..... ::)

He's been given a studio flat because of the combination of difficulties with height and Asperger's Syndrome...he actually didn't want to be on his own but the disability people and accommodation officer just decided it would be better. I am still waiting to hear who gets to pay the difference between an ordinary room and a studio flat, the Uni told me it would be covered by the Disability Support Allowance however the assessor for that told me in most cases it's the Uni that has to cover it. I get the feeling it's going to be a pass the buck game with me in the middle ::). Even the cost of an ordinary room is extortionate in my opinion, more than the loan. Then they find ways of milking them for more money...I had a look at the laundry room...£2 to wash and £1 to dry but not necessarily to a point where the clothes are dry and a prohibition on hanging them up to finish in their rooms on a rack......I bet they all follow that rule!

Anyway despite having AS he has gone out and made contact with people, went to Salsa dancing last night taking another guy along who hasn't done any dancing. LBK prefers ballroom to latin though.

Freshers is next week at Plymouth too.

I have lived in Plynouth and can assure you that he does not want to go down Union street for his pub crawl.
That is where the sailors and marines go to enjoy a night out.

Anyway going by the short shift I was given earlier when I IM'd him he's having a great time.

Well he's disappeared off in to the wild blue ether!

To answer the questions over the summer and lacking a job he has built me a gate at each end of my plot; mended the fence; built part of a manure bin and nearly 4 raised beds. He's left the plants to me. But he has eaten his share and gone off to uni with two bulbs of garlic for his stir fry's.

The son has vanished to UNI with the wallet and a good chunk of my tools for the repairs needed on his bike.
I shall have to render him bankrupt as the bank of mum and dad is all out of cash for his freshers week.

Tell him not to develop the bad biking habits of a Cambridge student....nearly been killed by a cyclist everytime I go! Or nearly killed one each time in the car.

He is kinda stuck at the moment due to his chain needing to be tightned.

We're going to be stuck our selves as LBK was the bike repair specialist in our family!

Finally over a week after dropping him at Uni I finally got a phone call 5 mins ago first one since the 1st couple of days when he was a bit lonely. Seems he's made friends with a group of older students with rooms near him......which is good as they won't be as 'mad' as his own age group.

Not much, as I have 3 girls here and the OH.

Me too...still have younger son and OH but still seems quiet and I'm still outnumbered.

Well he is coming home at the weekend, Obviously the bank of mum and dad has run dry. So I think he will have a go at the wallet and purse strings to see if there is anymore he can filtch from us. ;)
