A chap who sadly is no longer with us grew some of these for the local chinese take away.

He started them off like he would a runner bean row but the plants soon took over virtually the whole plot and encroached onto the neighboring plot too.

He had barrow loads of them but never grew them again....once bitten,twice shy!

To get viable seeds they have to be black when you harvest them.....that was a problem for my last batch, even though I left them overwinter the seed was only dark brown when I cracked them open, and subsequently had poor germination.

I got one good black seeded batch and sent them out to A4Aers last year, so hopefully someone will get some well ripened specimens to save seeds from this year!
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴
