some of my sunflowers were ready to be harvested a while back now, so i removed the seed head, and left the plant in the ground, 2 weeks later i returned to cut the stems off at the bottom and remove all the leaves, left the stems in the sunshine yesterday and now i have got a few 5-6 ft robust poles, and about 20 more still getting bigger! save having to buy any more in the future!!!

I take it that you would turn them upside down to get them in the ground. ;)
