Project Hush plans

Well as people have asked me to draw up some plans for this here goes.
Do not expect miracles as I am not the best at doing this.
Pictures have a way of telling their own story and I try to tell it the way it is.
Plans can be adpated to suit your needs.
Thickness of the wood I used for framing is 1 3/4" square.
Cost is not up to me, but loving it all the same.
So here we go and dont bite my head off if I get things wrong way round.












And finally the plans themselves.

I think I'd be inclined to put a third set of legs in the middle just in case!

Guinea pig poo makes good compost too.

I thought about the third set of legs but there is enough strength in the bench to keep things the way they are. No creeks or bending of the frame.

Landimad I love your guinea pigs. OH said I was to old for GPs 7 years ago but I still have them ;D. I've just bought a bale of Hemcore for the guinea pigs bedding. I don't have room for the big bales of shavings & it was costing £2 per bag of shavings each time I cleaned them out. The hemcore  rots down in about 8 weeks. I think the bale is a bit smaller than the shavings bales & I will have to store it in the potting shed. It was just over £11 but should last ages.

I find that  the waste from them always makes good compost. ;D

do all those guinea pigs live in that house? only ask as i have three little girls who would love some but don't have a huge garden :)

Our 3 do :)  In a big plastic cage. They go out on decent fays and have a run around th tiled room daily and sit on knees to watch tv :) Great pets.

All of these were rescued from a home who did not want to keep them.
They are lucky to live in the hutch provided by me and will not be moved indoors until the first frosts.
We move the run every few days so we do not have to mow the grass. ;D
Much cheaper than a mower and the waste makes good compost which has been added to the garden for the crops to grow.
The gang are as follows;
Caramel, Lemin, Zelda, Lily, and Oddball.
We have lost;
Helga and Yummy due to old age.

I am not sure what types of pigs they are as we seem to have to many to check out.

Like us over here we have used the rabbit to supplement our diet, in Peru they do the same.
This is why the old ones that we had were a dwarf rabbit called stewpot and a guinea pig called snack.

Back to the Bench in question,

I have been asked to do another one for around £250 if I can get the wood and put it together for them.

Hot on the heels is number two of these. But this time I shall have no time to take pictures as the bloke is turning up to get it shortly. Hope they are happy with it and it does not fall to pieces on them. :-[

Gosh, that was quick landimad!  You must be a demon carpenter.  They are fine benches - could turn into a nice little sideline for you?

Not much chance of that as I return to more mundain duties on the railway in September.
