Perennial kales

Apparently people used to grow perennial brassicas which rarely flowered, if at all, and were propagated by cuttings. There seem to be very few left, as apparently the biennial ones suited market gardeners better. Has anyone come across them?

Apparently they were quite common in "kaleyards" in the Hebrides and Orkneys... but I only have this from a book reference not personal experience...  :-\

Oof! That variegated one is something I'd have in a perennial border never mind an allotment.m  :P

This was something I knew of but had never seen photos of; the Daubenton form seems far more shrubby than I'd have anticipated. Would definitely be interested in giving that a go.
