Asparagus bit weedy?

Hi Folks,

I bought six asparagus crowns from Homebase last year.

They all came through then though some looked a bit weedy.

This year only 4 have come through and two of those are only a couple of inches tall compared with the strong plants 3 foot.



What is the problem? I haven't harvested yet as this is only year two. Will I really be able to harvest any next year?  :(

The one I can see looks fine.. the little ones/late ones may yet grow up...  :-\

Looks OK to me too.

Bung on some manure/compost in due course and Bob will be your relative.
