Shade tolerant, low maintenance border plants - suggestions please!

Interesting! Ihave both in mixed Hosta/ Toad Lily/Saxifrage etc border....and I struggle to increase the numbers of Lily in the Valley! I adore it and want more :)
I believe a certain plant sale may have some.  ;)

It's good grown in a container so it can't spread everywhere. An old sink would be ideal, obviously placed somewhere nobody can trip over it.

I was given a root 5 years ago and it has Spread 5ft each way

Wow, thanks guys for all the suggestions. I'll definitely evangelise to her about geraniums - she seems to be stuck on this notion of heather, but I really don't think they'll like being in permanent shade. I'll also look into hostas, which I know very little about, other than that slugs like them. :D
