Apart from the obvious effects upon the soil, no matter what the instructions say, for me its the sight of that sad 'yellowing' that just doesn't make me feel good.
A few weeks back I re-cut and straightened my beds to the size of my plot after which my eedjat neighbour decided to re-edge his. Now we've had several convo's bout my not using chems and I promised to strim the path between us to avoid this but a week later he had to go and splash it about. Think he got so far ahead of his-self he had nowt better to do. Couldn't believe it and when I asked he said he'd only done it near his side! But it would keep them at bay for a good while.
What's the threat I ask? Each to his own but where we have to co-exist in life, surely there are compromises.
I read on here about keeping parsnip for seed so I replanted one he'd given me just for the hell of it. When I asked him if he'd ever done it he said, no I like to get fresh seed every year!!
Clearly it's factory produced
Bless em
Good night
