last night i returned a bulb planter to b and q (got credit note) and as i was walking round the garden section(only place i see now! used to be tool ally...lol) i came across a selectin of plug plants entitled groew your own sunday dinner, containing 4 sprouts(igor) 4 cauliflower(all year round) and 4 calabrese(marathon) all for £3.99 they all look in cracking health going to plant them out over weekend. can they all be planted together in the brassica bed? and am i a cheater...lol i've also growns some cabages in a seed bed but not sure how they will turn out as i never took precautions for club root. i believe my neighbour has it. ;D

Personally, I don't think you're cheating but then that's because I too did the same, I have sown tons of seeds in my greenhouse but saw some lovely healthy psb and wsb in the garden centre for £2 for 12 plugs and love the stuff so snapped it up. Surely an allotment is to make you happy and provide food and if that means taking out a bit of insurance in the form of a few plugs to get you going then so be it! I'm sure some will disagree but that's how I feel! ;D

it also saves on window sill space ;D

No I don't think it is cheating ;D

I buy the odd ones, normally at car boot sales that I can't resist.

The only difference is somehow it is more satisfying when you sow your own ???
