valerian root

can anyone tell me how i can purchase fresh valerian root easily please without having to resort to buying it online? 

I was watching James Wong - Grow your own drugs and whilst i know its not new in that sense he captured my imagination and the hot chocolate looks easy to make and probably tastes  delicious on a cold spring night.  though it is good for anxiety at the same time.  i bought the book throughly intending to try some more of  the easier ones first.  it has to be fresh valerian root rather than tablet form.

Most healthfood shops would have it dried I'm not sure about fresh though.

It's very easy to grow your own although if you let it go to seed it spreads everywhere.

looks like i will buy it online at first. not sure if dried be the same?  but at least can get it online so that may well be the way forward this time.

It seems that there is more than one type of valerian and it would be easy to be misled into buying the 'wrong' one.
