Grown these lovely potatoes for the first time this year and am smitten! They look so gorgeous when you dig them, lovely purple/blue skin, but the flesh is white as white. Excellent mashed, and as roasties just perfect - crisp outside, meltingly soft inside.
Anyone else grow them? They will certainly be on my list for next year.

I have in the past... but the purple skins make them tricky to find in my soil and being late mains are more likely to get blight (needing a longer season) Great spud though..  :)

Yes, one of my favourite heritage varieties.

We grew them for a few years, but as Saddad says, cos of their late cropping they're too prone to blight and we never got many :(
Blooming lovely roasties though, better even than KE's ;)

Thanks for the responses. Had to lift mine earlier than I'd hoped due to the dreaded blight - but still got a reasonable crop. Beginners luck I guess!
