The USS Theodore Roosevelt is parked out in the solent because it is too big to get into Pompey Harbour.



Now, we have a nice little webcam that films all the shipping coming up the solent. Very handy for looking at ship movements and also the state of the sea if I want to go out and do a bit of fishing. The webcam has mysteriously developed a fault and I suspect if I went to drop anchor on one of my fishing hotspots, I would quickly be told to move on.



You can go down the front with you binoculars, but you might get some funny looking geezers talking to you. There are going to be 5,000 ships company hitting Pompey over the next few days. Watch the birth column in the evening news next xmas for the results.
