We have just bought a packet of seeds from Victoriana Nursery Gardens and was wondering if anybody out there on this forum has had any experience of growing this unusual veg / fruit?

The berries have no real flavour & a gritty texture but are edible. The leaves can be cooked & eaten but only in small quantities as they contain saponins. The seeds can be soaked for 12 hours then thoroughly rinsed to wash off the saponins then ground & added to flour.
They look pretty but thats about it I wouldn't allocate them too much space on your plot if I were you.
